Fyi a couple of kingfish have been caught from waimak mouth over last week or two, they are eating the smaller kahawhi.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

Normally a rod length of 7.6 in length with a sensitive tip. It depends if using the old fashion egg beater or side winder reel to which type of rod you buy. Shimano backbone is a very popular rod which is about $160 and a decent reel will set you back $150 + I have a G lumus rod worth $500 and a daiwa Luna reel worth $470 this set up is pretty much top of line but you can buy rod and reel combos for round $150 which I would recommend to start with. Then you have to buy lures around $5 each. Hope this helps.
