why is it that alot of people seem to be having trouble with the quote function lately
is there a system problem or is the problem with the user
I only ask, coz I now see seasoned posters having the same quoting issues
it seems that alot of users are only missed the first quote tab that captures the whole quote and highlights it
why is that
quoting problems

Re: quoting problems
Well, if you actually look closely the quote in Sadam's posting says "Sadam_husain wrote" where in fact it should have read "Skid wrote:",
I think that a lot of people try to remove some of the text and with that they remove one end of the "quote" block, there always has to be the matching [qoute] [/qoute], if one of the square brackets is missing or the "/" then you will get something funny happening.
More people are posting quickly without checking what they have written first me thinks

Yeah I think that hits the nail on the head Ian although theres still the odd person who dosent know how to push the "Quote" button and just does a cut and paste of the origional text which confuses the shit out of me
Re: quoting problems
I know I have quoted in the past, and deleted some text as pointed out, and delete too much for the quote to work properly
Re: quoting problems
If you are going to do quotes and modify them (or create them by hand by not using the quote button) then just use the preview button before you click submit. If you cock it up and it doesn't look right then please edit your post and fix it up. I personally can't stand reading an improperly quoted post thinking that they are just repeating what the other person said.

Re: quoting problems
Especially when they quote the entire message AND ALL the photos, and you end up having to scroll down to the very bottom of their post just to find out what they want to say.

You must be as pedantic as I am!
Re: quoting problems
I normally scan over and often re-read my posts after posting and edit if needed.

And me
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.
