CB (26mhz HF AM)
Note these are not the PRS 40ch, these are the ones the truckers use)
1200mm CB Flexi $50
900mm CB Flexi $45
Springmount bases recommended for these larger ones, these are the fast fit type which the cb connection doesnt require crimping or soldering (or the larg connector to push thru your firewall) pricing up soon
L Brackets are also recommended $10-15 depending on size

FYI, 26MHz is in the HF band, not VHF. VHF is 30-300MHz

Re: CB (AM/HF) Aerials/Antennas
No, he is not quite correct. While most clubs use uhf (prs) radios, a lot of us use both, as they each have their own advantages and disadvantages, and cb is also good for on road communication with trucks etc.

Re: CB (AM/HF) Aerials/Antennas
Ive got a 26MHz cb and intend to update to PRS at some stage, but will be running both of them at the same time. They both have their uses and you can be sure if you only take one then everyone else with have the other type.
Let me know the prices Jerry for those mounts might be up for a couple. I assume they work with PRS aerials too (maybe wont need the spring though.

Re: CB (AM/HF) Aerials/Antennas
Anyone got an update for this?
I went to Dick Smith recently and they no longer stocked aerials
I'm after a new uhf and am aerial - years ago I got a wire aerial from Dunedin which was brilliant...was about 1-1.2m and for the AM iirc.

Nah mate...Had my uniden sundowner uh100 for nearly 10 years, probably use it until it dies which it hasn't yet. It surprises me sometimes, was leading a night trip into the Macaulay years ago and I was talking to the guys already at the hut when we were still beside Lilybank. There are some on Tardme but you get what you pay for so I'll wait and see what Jerry has.
