Re: 42nd traverse
its an old logging road. take a chainsaw a winch a shovel two spare tyres a hi lift jack etc etc.... or you could just go in your shiny and hope for the best.

its only just opened
there was a working bee not long ago and apparently its slightly overgrown
its always been a shiny friendly track apart from the usual scratches
but as usual, if you are planning on going alone, be well prepared

I went alone, being naive - a couple of years ago.
Stock standard Pajero LWB on 31" ATs.
Got through fine. Was a sunny dry day though.

Re: 42nd traverse
You'll get through with a resonably capable truck and good tyres, maybe a winch etc. Most assuredly not shiny friendly, you'll be pushing through a bit of overhang and sliding up through cuttings.

Went through on the mountainbike at the end of Nov just before it opened to vehicles: track was in decent condition, a few slippery bits but driveable by any proper 4wd on mud tyres I'd guess. The scrub is narrowing it up a bit in a lot of places though.
Cheers

Slippery bits are a bit of both but mainly mud. Should be heaps drier now though.
