Worsleys Road Christchurch
Worsleys Road Christchurch
Interestingly I was up Worley’s Road last weekend (10th September 06) as I had not been up there for some time, probably about 18 months to 2 years, and this year with the really wet winter that track has been given a hard time, however it will dry off and be a little more easier to run up over the next few months.
I also understand that some people were calling for the track to be bulldozed.
Hell no leave it as it is!
In it’s current state a shiny truck will suffer damage if they push on up to far, modified trucks will get up OK pretty well much up to the second gate, then from there it gets a bit tough, Please at this point do not cross the fence onto then neighbouring land, as that is trespassing. As I state give it time to dry and it will remain a great 4WD track for all to enjoy.
This road is a public road and is a great 4WD track so close to the city, a great night trip too. It is a multiuse track with Mountain Bikers and Walkers who use it so if using this track please show courtesy to other users. Especially look out going up hill in a 4WD as mountain bikers really get up some pace coming down.
Anyway enjoy it and please keep within the road area, which is pretty well fenced anyway.

Hey Steve, (or anyone else) any chance of getting a picture from google earth to show where the track starts (at the bottom), Ive looked many times but just cant find the bloody thing. Found the top ok though. Also, approx how long is it? Just thinking of doing a walk through one day as my truck wont make it.
Ps, feel free to offer me and the missus a seat to take us for a ride up there

Hey Ken,
Just drive along Cashmere Road heading towards Hallswell. Turn onto Worsleys Road (oppisate cracroft shops) Drive to the absolute end of Worsleys Road, Over the speed bump at the end veer right then through the steel gate, Will start gravel road the track is just ahead (yes the clay rutted one!) it would be 2km long?! Im guessing. Good walk to check it out before driving. Its a pretty mean track!
Cheers,
Dan

I'm with you guys on this. I's a great track up there. One place lads in their standard boys in their poorly equipped trucks can't get to.

I'm keen for a play either Wednesday or thursday night . My daughter and partner arrive from Aussie on Tuesday and have already requested a play in the Toyota which means I have to put the distributor back in and get it running . Has been out of action since our training day.
