thompsons track

Postby Crash bandicoot » Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:54 pm

went up today (31st) with the intention of going right through to katikati but ended up being a salvage mission for two broken trucks.
Suzolla's mighty hydraulic winch saved the day for the stricken crusier and pajero that was blocking the track half way down the kati kati side.

4d56 J top pajero had ran out of oil on the stee exit of one of the mud holes and ran all its bearings, the crusier destroyed the front hub and even with the spares waliked in from the kati kati side (1 hr hike apparently) still only had 2wd on the way back out.

I need to hurry up and ute chop my truck, as the some of the mud holes are the perfect size to trap a 100 odd inch wheel base
Also fix a few minor things that cropped up today but weren't major enough to stop paj1.

kati kati side is pretty rooted really ....winches, lockers, and silvy's/ simex are a must if ya want to make a good go of it.
