AWESOME DAY
Everyone got stuck in and had a blast, plenty of mud thrown, wheels in the air and the odd bit of carnage
First casualty was TheGeneralMuds driver side rear brakes, which decided it was time for an early lunch and tried to chew their way out of the drum. A few Zip Ties, a big hammer and a line lock and he was mobile again.
Toyoda chose the wrong line through the swap and collected an ancient burried concrete culvert (ok ok, it was my fault, i couldn't find one end of it when i was pegging out and i was a meter short of the end of it with the danger tape) and smashed his winch gaurd in.
At one stage XJ mentioned he was puzzled as to why his steering wheel was almost 180 degrees out of alignment and there where some strange noises coming from his front end.
Lilpigs clutch was getting to the extreme limit of boarder line but drove onto the trailer at the end of the day.
Wopass's tractor was working over time in recovery mode but was not at all impressed with the sunny hot conditions.
Then i want and did this:
Yep thats right, thats a front drive shaft off The 50. I managed to smash both UJ's, twist the shaft by a few degrees and ripped the transfercase out of its mounts.
I hit the swamp hard with lots of rev's and wheel spin, rhe front end bounced and bit hard and i heard a crack, but i was still moving so i just my foot up it. I wasn't untill it started fish tailing up the hill that i realised i had lost drive to the front wheels. I turned around and drove back through the swamp in 2wd

and Wopass rescued my D/S from the swamp.
I shot back to my shed and threw one of my spare drive shafts on. Had a quick look for any signs of further damage, but decided it was all fine. I rejoined the group and had another run at the swamp. That was when the transfercase parted company from its mounts. Iguess the hard hit the that broke the d/s must have also damaged the mounts ( the mounts where old and shitty and oil damaged

, just hadn't got round to getting some Nolethane ones made)
I am now running 410 drive shafts and brand new T. Case mounts.
Good day/night out

I put my official claim in to being the only one in history to get accross the swamp in 2wd
