Helped Stinky with his new POS truck, pulled out radiator (full of mud again :roll:

) did a bit of panelbeating with my hammer so the replacement rear light fits now (will get Ryan to fix it properly later) cleaned my K&N filter again

I woke up at 5 am to go to the ore bbq in hams but graham was running late.
So he didn't get here until 9 any ways.
got to the bbq had fun got my front right wheel off the ground then got it a little dirty.

If you ask me its about blody time i got it dirty!

Then to day (sunday the second) went to the tokoroa drags! prity good going to take the datto there wen its finished to get it tuned.

Had a poke around worsleys today finally. Would be pretty narly when its wet up there. Then drove around looking for another spot. Found a track, think its called 'Huntley's' or something. Anyone know anything about it?

Wow matt looks impressive!

Went out wheeling with nic (COMILUX) on sat, shit is was great to get out on some tracks even if i was only co-pilot its been ages. And was good to see he truck working well again after a long repair its ready for action again

went for a play up in the hills with a couple of local guys, allmud na drifter and fj40 ( danny ) had a blast testing the cruiser in new terrain, and getting to use the winch properly was all good!

Saturday finally got round to putting support blocks in so body lift all finished now
Sunday went dow to Aotea block to try out the Salisbury diff I just got installed on tuesday although alot stronger I dont have the ground clearance I use to have

ABS light kept comming on and bit of a rattle from the rear
Cleaned truck and investigated rattle and ABS problem thought it was just a loose sensor turned out both rear wheel bearings were extremely loose hmmmmm strange accounts for ABS problem so removed drive flanges to tighten wheel bearings and all was revealed.
Who ever reassembled my diff some how forgot to included locking washer and the locking nut! so there was only 1 nut hand tight holding the wheels on both sides.

left friday night and headed to a mates place way out the back of Huntly. stopped to look a some rims on the way in Hamilton to find they were belonging to XJ, always good to meet folks off here.

saturday we drove all the way to Kerikeri.

Sunday we competed in the national trial north of Kerikeri, where we broke both front CVs and the diff at the same time, fixed them to find we had no clutch for the rest of the day, rolled softly just before lunch and turned the panhard arm into a banana, so in the afternoon we drove like pussies to avoid rolling and breaking it some more and then the POS dropped 4 cylinders at the end of the day with 4 hazards still to go.

today drove all the way home from Kerikeri, a bit jaded after a late night with the coldies.

got to go playing both days this weekend, took my boy in the christmas parade with some other club members and ther trucks,then went playing. meet JINX off here on sunday then went up the bush with 3 other trucks, i managed to get home with no broken stuff for a change,plus put this in on friday night made a huge difference. vaughan

Friday went to the site to help finish off Picked up buggy at 2.30 pm friday for Kerikeri XMAS parade to promote rally Friday nite, Saturday rally site again
Sunday rally site again finally to actually compete Sunbday nite prizegiving
Monday back to the site AGAIN to clean up thank christ the last time the hills get steeping each day

I have just been out in the garage for two hours doing a job that should not have taken any where that long. I wanted to put four eye bolts in the back of the jeep to use for tying down the spare tyre, tool box etc so it doesn't bounce around.
Drilling the first hole through the carpet I ended up with a ball of underfelt wrapped around the drill bit so tried to move enough of the carpet out of the way and that is when i found it was quite damp under the carpet, underfelt & rubber

. So as many of you have done already I decided it was time to take out the carpet, at least from the back of the jeep anyway. The worst area was under the back seat, some rust munching away there, tho' no holes (yet).
After removing the rear cushion of the back seat, and undoing the seat belt bolts I was finally able to remove the carpet out of the way, suprisingly it didn't take too long to dry without the carpet to trap the water.
Now I had better paint the back, to stop the rust getting any worse -
SO what do you guys suggest is the best paint for painting the rear load area :?:

And of course I didn't get the eye bolts done

i would put a dehumidifier in there over nite to get rid of the rest of the moisture
Use a rust converter first to kill the rust then you shout be able to put any type of paint u want over it

rust converter first, then seal the holes so it doesn't do a titanic on you in a bog, what about some of that rubber underbody stuff you get from supercheap....

PS with the carpet soak them in the bath for a week and give them 3-4 washes.....comes up real good

As a member of the Rotary Club of Stokes Valley I helped organise the Santa Parade in Stokes Valley on Saturday. As I watched the vintage cars, hot-rods, stock cars etc I thought we need a group of very muddy 4WD's from ORE. So next year how about we have a Rallywoods trip the weekend before the Xmas parade, and enter a group, Upper Hutt parade is on the same day in the afternoon.

Thanks Jerry, now I know what I am doing this coming weekend.

The Jeep has been off the road for a month with no WoF, needed a new windscreen which took a while to source, and need the rear brakes seeing to as well - a good time to get these other jobs seen to.

I usually chuck some laundry poweder in with the carpets, the first time you do it the water will come out black (dirt), wash a couple of times and then let soak, hot water is ok, rinse carefully then let them dry on a line

We were all real clean, and the commentator keep telling the crowd to have a good look as they wouldnt see us this clean again, and on Sunday they would probably not see us his way up either
