Driveshaft mod for high suspension lift ?

Post by NA_Drifter »

Well, finally just got myself some 2nd hand high lift springs for my LN130 Surf. They are off some Jap import Surf. With the information/number I got from the springs, and did some google, they are approximately 13cm lift kit! aka 5"!?
I measure it, they are 400mm high, 17mm diameter and 6 1/4 coils.

So the question is, I have already got 80mm body lift, 50mm transmission lift, with this lift kit install, I'll need to change/mod my shocks, install front ball join spacer, longer brake hoses, install adjustable pan nad rod

For drive shaft, so do I need to mod/ change the drive shaft to a longer one?.. front and back?? Is there any trick around this?If it need to be change/lengthen, can I get drive shaft from another vehicle etc?

Else I thinking change the body lift to 30mm, remove the transmission lift then I'll have less lift.

Any idea?? Thanks

here is a picture of the suspension change according to their website on a standard Surf

im running 50mm lift coils and 30mm spacers ,with a 80mm panhard drop bracket no issues at all.

The limiting factor of max rear suspension droop is the 4 link on a surf, the upper and lower arms bind before the drive shaft runs out of slip.

you can get a little more out of the drivers side by releasing the tension on the hand-break cable and bending the rear of the gas tank out of the way.
