I think from memory on Isuzu you have to wind them back in with a allen key from the rear of the caliper

Only done this once and it was quite a long time ago

This is on the rear ones

it will be the piston has tipped slightly, allways a bitch to get them back in strait.

with someone else and you,get them to depress the brake pedal slightly to get the piston back out into line(make sure the other side and all other pistons cant move(put back together on the rotors) then using a C clamp well centered slowly squeze it up to get the piston to retract,if it feels like its binding up,leave the C clamp on and depress the brake pedal slightly again to allign the piston and repeat steps untill job is done, you can also use a poly grip to try turning the piston at the same time as compressing it back into the calliper but this usually leaves marks on the piston top lip, not a biggy but care is needed when doing this.

did that make sence ?

well i tryed it and no joy..
ended up crimping the lines and taking the whole thing off.
tryed moving it around and it was not moving easy at all (stiff and squeeky). so ive decided that its stuck.
the inside brake pad is far more worn also, does this indicate that it might not retract properly,, come to think of it it has been squeekin now and then?
so that being the case .. what now?
help.

Ok here we go
I had to adjust my hand brake today so I took some photos ...

Image

The nut with the 6 on it is the plug

Image

This needs a 14mm socket to remove

Image

You can just see the allen key socket down the hole

Image

Use a 4 mm allen key to back the grub screw out
When I installed my pads I backed it out until I could push the caliper all the way back

When you have put it all back together wind the screw in until the wheel won't turn and then back it off about 1/2 a turn and you can't hear it rubbing. if it rubs at all it will wear the pad down quicker.
Then put the plug bolt back and you are done.
the thing to watch is if your Isuzu has a limited slip diff you will need to lift both back wheels off the ground to be able to turn the one you are adjusting.

to adjust the hand break start with ...

Then put the plug bolt back and you are done.
the thing to watch is if your Isuzu has a limited slip diff you will need to lift both back wheels off the ground to be able to turn the one you are adjusting.

Then crawl under and adjust the cable until it it is right.

i adjusted the park brake and found it still wouldent hold on a hill,
so got under and tightend somemore, and found that it only works on one wheel. one of the arms is normall looking ( the one that works).
Image

and the other is pulled all the way in and dosent work?
Image
what now, is it screwed?

Diconect the cable on the bad side then adjust the caliper using a allen key in the back of it.

Check hand brake works when you pull the lever, then check the hand brake cable isnt full of mud.(common problem)

Isuzus give a lot of problems with the rear calipers and cables, and it only gets worse once you throw it in the mud

Take it back to where you got it and get another one.
Like I said it is a common thing on isuzus the mu and the bighorn all have the same system.

Have you still got the old ones you took off? Two into one maybe.

Other option might be to try and fix the original ones. One on my Terrano did the same thing (piston all sticky). Pulled it off used compresed air into the inlet to blow piston out ( be care full it comes out like a bullet) Quick rub with 2500 wet and dry to remove the crud that had built up on the bit of the piston that had beeen exposed (boot was good but piston still cruddy) New seal kit and it was like new. So much better than other non sticky one i did that as well.

Not sure if ths would work but might be worth a shot.
