I'll tell you what Jase, and i'm being dead serious here, how about you/we organise one??

There is a bit of work to organise one, but there were a few new members that appeared at the ORE BBQ that i bet would be interested, and plenty of others like me who always think they know everything but seem to learn something new every time they venture out, and if the opportunity arose at the right place and the right time i'm sure we would get a good attendance.

We have disscussed training days here on the ORE public forums before, and decided that training days are better to be region specific (not much point in getting trained on river driving at a sth island training day when you live in the waikato where there are very few drivable rivers).

We need to develope a list of stuff we think it would be good for people to learn, figure out a venue, a suitable date, an itinerary of how the day will work, and decide who will be suitable trainers.

What ya reckon??

I vote Yorick for winch recovery tips ;)

 Well that backfired pretty quick didn't it

There's no reason why you couldn't organise it man, especially seeing as you are the one that wants to be trained, you would have a better idea of what it is that you want to learn, the same with the other new guys.

What would you like to include in this training day??(i.e general offroad driving techniques, basic/advanced recoveries, winching, basic vehicle maintenance.......)

Would you like it to be an overnighter weekend thing??

Where would like it held?? (i.e extreme park in auckland?? Ngaroma Block in Pureora?? )

When would do you think it would be a good time to hold it??

well some time after xmas,

Would like to learn angle's like wen you go in a ditch strate thru or one wheel down one wheel up sorta thing, prity much everything you just said, i just want to learn as much as possible:D, (you don't get much people my age wanting to learn :D)

someplace in the middle of the north island would be good because then everyone could come, hamitlon, tga, taupo, and whakatane,(spelling?)

It depends on what time suits mike,

I think i should put a $10 entry fee thingy just incase some one thinks it's free, so just incase they turn up with no money:D there will be a $10 entry fee ok?

Is that good enouth DB:D

time/date dependant of course, but i'm sure the bride and i would be keen to jump on in...... like DB said, we can always learn something. Im sure Kat is sick of me telling her whats what  , so a fresh skill set would be cool, and as for me, well.... im always up for some/well overdue for some - refinement. 8)

Im sure you'll organise a great day Pete!!!! :D

Only because he has done the nzqa part. Need roughly 8 people to make the course viable for the company to run it down here that i do the trainings for.

I would be keen

I was thinking of doing the Welly one but the date clashed with something my lovely wife wanted to do.

Any within 4 hours travel of Hastings would be great, especially if some one is able to offer a bit of floor for the night.

Or lounge floor or somewhere to park the truck so I can sleep in the back.
I have the Mat and sleeping bag.

I MAY/SHOULD be a starter. depends on dates venues, degree of damage expected. Poor truck is starting to look second hand far too soon.

Feb march?

Want to see XJ stuck somewhere.

Suggest Wopass or DB for actual trip leader, but YOU, Jase are definitely organ grinder!!
