Yeah, the diagram I got from Mike, but in the end the wiring was all up the ass anyway an Mike had to sort it.

The basics: Yellow plug with 6 pins but only 3 wires coming from loom by inlet manifold (from memory) all powered 12V. Injector feed (big black with white? trace - powered 12V, big black with red? trace - computer power from memory - powered 12V and a red??? thin wire powered - can't remember what that did.

Mike?

Steve.

PS: Where have ya been Pinky - its been ages! hows the diff problem going?

Oh, and yeah I was well pleased with the results of the suspension work but a bit tired when I fitted the rear shock mounts so they are a bit limiting. I'm making up some new upper mounts to send down to Conan that will fix that problem.

In my wiring loom Black/red trace are 12v+ power wires. Try hooking it up to the battery with a 5amp fuse maybe even a 2.5 amp fuse.
If it is running too rich them maybe it has something to do with the AFM not reading properly.
Good luck bro. :D

Careful tho - those wires are in the main loom - Pinky is talking about one from the igniter... I have no idea without tracing it on an existing Cressida loom where that might go.

Might have to ask Conan to have a look on his and see where that wire feeds off to...

I'll go have a look in mine.... I striped all of the loom from mine including most of the bits it pluged into or tags with comments :) didn't know how long it was going to take before I got to the wirering and didn't want to be left scratching my head wondering
Also got hte Haynes manual for the cresedda as well I'll have a look in there for ya

 Your gona love this... the book showed that they changed the loom every 2yrs let me know what yr you've got and I'll see if I can post it

If it helps mine is an 83-84 and I have 2 black/red wires coming into the ECU, 1 is a live on "run" through a 7.5amp fuse splitting to an open circut relay for the EFI and the ECU, and the other is from the ignition switch to the condenser - ignition coil -igniter and then the ECU

 this is why I ripped the WHOLE loom from the car ....

Right I have two black with faded red dots going into the ecu... do you want these or are you talking about the wire I noticed further back in the loom that dosn't go to the ecu that is black with a red stripe

Oh and the book is useless!! the plug pionts don't match

Hi Steve,
Are you able to tell me what the eye to eye distance is for the Falcon springs that you use for the rear of Surfs, looks like you use just the top 3 leaves. Just want to check that I have found the correct ones.
Thanks

Hi Tim, I'll measure 'em up for you, but pretty much if they are nice and long and have a built in front rubber bush with a 1/2" sleeve then use em.

The pin needs to be moved about 115mm towards the centre of the spring - get the main and second leaf redrilled and turn the rest around.

Hope that helps

hey all thought id post a couple of pics of whats been done on the surf lately.... :D

have disected the original air box and changed the intake and outtake to 3inch to match the snorkel etc

Image

heres the snorkel mounted, steve had it made up to go on the drivers side of his lux..... now that its in my hands have cut and rotated it 180deg and shortened it so it pretty much enters the same place as the last (give or take a hundy mills  )

Image

nerf bars are mounted, still have to tidy the welds (upside down welding :x .... ) and what not before i give em a paint....

Image

thats about it pic wise for the time being.....

i have hacked the old ifs driveshaft and clearanced it , its all down at the engineers at mo getting balanced and welded... which means tommorows the first run in 4WD  hell yeah!!!!!

tell you how it goes!

yeah tyres are becoming a major "gotta get" rather than "better wait till its in my budget"
would be thinking dual transfer of higher difffs if the tyres happen thou.....
but hey its always like that.. still trying to afford $40 to put her through a WOF then theres the cert bill....... :D

anyway put it in 4WD this avo for the virgin run . mmmmmm brilliant!!!

cept for unlocking hubs then climbing one final hill up onto main road then driving 10 odd k'ms home getting out and seeing my driveshaft in two pieces!! .... hoping engineer didnt trim shaft back a few mm's before he welded it, anyway wil sort that out tommorow should just be bump stops..

SupraSurfs used to do that... did you make it 100mm over standard? if you can go a bit longer then just machine up a disc between the flange and the driveshaft to pack it a bit...

bugger tho...
