hi i have a 24 valve twincam v6 can u plese tell me if its cam belt or chain ? if so can u tighten the chain with a adjuster etc
Re: 1994 2l v6 SWB escudo timing
Hi, they're chain driven cams, with auto tensioners. Pricey to replace so it's crucial to keep well serviced with low cold viscosity, but high quality oil.

Hi , there are 3 chains and 3 auto tensioners , if they are getting noisey you can run an oil flush through and replace with a good quailty oil ( 5w30 ) this can sometimes get the tensioners working better. as Iniel said they need good servicing and its quite involved to replace tensioners. But can be done givin some time and effort.
