Got a head start on the weekend.

Factory CD player in wife's car was acting up for a while, finally got sick of it and replced it Pioneer DEH-2950MP head unit. Took a couple of hours to dismantle half the dash, but managed to put it all back together without breaking anything.

Now I have a spare factory 6 CD stacker in a perfect condition and slightly tempramental head unit for sale. They are both Alpine units.

Congrats!

Yesterday went in to trial fit a suit and get some shoes for my sister's wedding coming up. Did that as quick as poss then shot back out to top a bitsy paddock for a lady and finally got back to doing what I was meant to be doing for the day at about noon...

Oh and also have discovered that since my locker has been set up correctly I can get some good chirp from the inner rear tyre on sharp turns, esp on smooth carpark seal and roundabouts! Watch it boy racers - here I come!

Went to the West Coast for a break from work, didn't do any wheeling as I had the new Hippo, but should've taken the old one out instead.
Got engaged last night (took 11 years for me to pop the question  ), so there goes my bullbar money

Kev (Leithfield) and I took the families camping in the Conway river halfway between the inland Kaikoura rd and SH1, I had to borrow Dads doublecab to fit all the gear in, it was a trip for the kids and they can't stop talking about it, river water was warm and were swimming all day on the 27th
Beer, wine, food, relaxing and cooking marshmellows with the kids, was great....even the trip down river was enjoyable, here's some pics for those interested

What's the explanation for photo 23 in the second album? Love the mud sounds on the last clip of the 70 series going down the hill.

Went about 4 crossings up the Okuku today for a picnic lunch, was just a passenger in my father's Prado. Spent most of the picnic keeping three energetic pups off centre stage (i.e. picnic rug). One (6 weeks old) discovered she could swim the hard way! Any one after a pup? One Rough-coat Jack Russell not yet spoken for.

Tomorrow heading out to a big back country station, might see if there could be some future potential...

That should be fun trying to keep those restless guys off center stage! I'd like to see it actually! :P

Have fun tomorrow...

We had a rather busy day today. Lots of friends! We went for a walk in the river not far from us which was really nice. It was soooo hot. About 37-40 degrees! Horrible :( Anyway, we had a great time in the river. Despite some people making the "mistake" of falling in the river!!!! :D :D

We head away tomorrow for a bit (no 4x4 in this :( ) Been doing quite a bit of motorbike riding this week which has been a lot of fun.

So on the whole a rather quiet weekend!

Didn't look at fishing, maybe a few around there, river end has a logoon that leaches through the shingle a bit like Waipara river and about the same size so may not be a lot of fishing at all

Went out to one of the station back of the waimak yesterday. Was hoping might be a good place to go 4x4ing and it may be but more positively I was speaking to another chap who lives on a station up North Canty who has invited us up to his farm. I'm hoping to head up in the next few weeks to check it out.

Will keep in touch, would be good to check it out and then arrange a trip there. He was very accommodating about it. Apparently some of the clubs go there too. His son has a skylux with 38"s. He mentioned articulation, big bogs and climbs. Will keep you in touch.

Its not Mt Benger is it?

I am hoping to arrange a trip there sometime in the next 2 or 3 months, when time permits.

Yep pretty sure thats the name of it. Most likely any one here who is part of one of the clubs has had the option of going at some time. He mentioned about 4 or 5 clubs who have been there - Including some posh Euro 4x4 club who laughed when he turned up with a Brumby to show them round and took them down narrow places they had to spit and polish their rangies after.

If you are planning it go for it, if you need help with contacting and getting in let me know as I "know" the owner. And just a tip: its going to change management soon so that might affect things but he's more than happy at the moment.

Here is a map showing the two routes I have driven on Benger in the past.

Image

There is also a nice area there to use for advanced training too, has a huge faied hill climb area, mud, lotsa mud, obsitcals, cross overs etc, tight turns and another ara close by with a good bank to practice winching up etc.

a bit late, but haven't been near a computer for about 6 days or so.

drove to parents house in Carterton for boxing day and stayed for a couple of nights before heading to a fellow club members farm where our club were camping, playing on bikes, 4wds, swimming in river, getting sunburnt, lighting nice bonfires, drinking lots and generally having a bloody awesome relaxing time before we all have to go back to work to make money to pay for it.

Back home now for a day of clean up before starting the new job on thursday.

Was going to do sweet feck all but then found out atlas, elmnop and the feelers were playing at the local pub so grabbed a ticket and went to watch. atlas were pretty cool, real nice hot chick in the band. elmnop were awesome and the feelers pretty av. Saw the best chick fight i have in my whole life, was the first person to step in to break it up, woman really fight no holds barred

Lost forward motion on kaiteriteri beach this morning while feeling a little jaded trying to get the boat off the beach. man bfgs can digg especially with twin lockers. pretty sure a local bystander had given up hope of me getting out of there and was waiting for the tractor call for help. I got out to their suprise
