Ball joints

Post by kiwipete »

Whats the go with replacing ball joints on a Terrano (95)?
I assume it is just a simple case of removing them off the tie rods and threadding them back on, then getting a wheel aignment.

Is there anything else im missing?
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Not a worry peoples, its booked in to be done now. Might as well get them to do the wheel alignment and balancing at the same time.

Are you doing the tie rod ends or the lower ball joints? If the WOF man failed it, it is likely to be the lower ball joint. This is pretty simple but dont buy the cheapest one you can find as they wear really fast and it becomes false economy.

Ok, so it isnt the ball joints or the tie rod ends...................
Its the bloody steering box!

Had a quote from one power steering outfit on Tuam St for a worst cas scenario of $450.00 ish

Cockram Nissan quoted me $1750.00 plus GST for a new one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any other places in Chch that I could try for a quote etc?
