Vitara front diff

Post by Weasel »

Ive heard that you can bolt in a steel front diff from a Grand Vitara into 1993 vitara to replace the crap alloy one?

Does anyone know if this bolts straight in? and same ratio's?

Only the diesel grand vitara's came out with steel diffs, not sure on the ratios but I got quoted 2g for a replacement one for my diesel GV.. there are diesel vitara's (ie not the grand ones) ..... these may fit in easily...

Not sure on ratios's etc

I have a steel one in my shed that was in a early 90's vitara , no idea on how the guy got it in there . I just brought it for the locker it had in it :D .

I suspect that some of the v6 manuals had steel fronts too , but not sure .

Yep, Chris is right. Some of the 2.5 V6 manuals had a steel front housing, but not the autos. You're much more likely to find one than a diesel, but every wrecker knows how desirable they are for all us Vitara/Escudo owners, so they sell them for double their weight's worth in titanium.
