hey guys, im tidying up this engine im throwing in the truck, wanting your point of veiw ....200k engine
im doing gaskets cambelt w/pump, the engine is quite dirty and exhaust studs are rusted to shit, leaning to the option of doin the head gaskets now before i end up cracking a head later on, does this sound like a good idea?
i was planning on a simple unbolt clean up and fit new h/gaskets and put it back together, this sound dodgy? (in my thughts as the headgaskets are fine at this stage i shouldnt need to get the heads planned unless i see them in a bad condition once removed
let us know your thaughts
cheers again
sam.

Re: pajero engie work
I would have thought to leave it alone but if you do take them off i'd get a valve grind anyway. But $ can get carried away and since the vehicle owes you very little, you could just plonk it in and drive?

Re: pajero engine work
its hard to decide how far to take it... it will be never ending i spose but i dont want to be out thrashing it on a track and cook it to find myself forking out for a rebuild or another engine
Re: pajero engine work
Well, why not pull it apart and do it up then you have a cheap truck with a good motor you can always keep.
Pull heads off, get valve grind, new stem seals, bungback together.

yea thats the most understood reply, its a nice truck and ive ordered my 33s

i might spend the tad extra and the extra time to get a good truck out of it
there not worth a hell of alot to sell but if i use and abuse it for a year its all been worth while
