hey bud you running the 413 diffs? how much hp you got?( had a mate years back who had 413 diffs 32x11.5x15s & it went well but just needed more grunt he found...)

as for tyres in the trial scene the general grabbers seem to be the choice of most guys.....pretty cheap too i think

id be happy with 800k too man!

i have custom axles and diffs made 4.8 ratio, i'm running a 413 motor with an electronic supercharger, and custom 4 into 2 coby extractors. and using lj80 transfer case for that extra low gearing.

Got any pics?? Are you entering the PoiPoi round?

We are running maxis treapadors radials and are very happy with how they are performing. If only we could perform as well

31s would generally be regarded as too small

although a few years ago the current national champ won the title on 31s in a c class homebuilt which is just unheard of.

I guess if ya cant fit 33s then ya will have to go with woteva fits

thanks for that i know that 31" is a small tyre in terms of what is being used by most people, but i have to work with what i have. but my main question still remains, as to what are people finding to be the bettter tyre in competion, as i cant afford to get my purchase wrong. so i'm reling on other peoples experience to help me

so do you want to know what brand/type of tyre most folks are competing on :?: :?:

if that is the case, then the preferred tyre is a Kumho 833, which you can no longer buy as they stopped producing them years ago. The next on the list is the General Grabber M/T, which is also unavailable due to production ceasing.

So to answer your question, you need to be looking for a soft ply radial tyre which is fairly agressive.

Due to the fact that the 2 tyres I mentioned earlier are not available, most folks are turning to the Maxxis Mudzilla, which is a directional tyre that is also an inch wider than what most of the other ones are.

hope this helps

thanks for the info skid, i have had mentioned to me that the kumho 834 or the kl71 would be a good choice as well,
its all getting a bit to confusing though.

In my opinion, both those tyres are pretty crap. Id be going to a federal koragia (or whatever it is) or the maxxis trepador or mudzilla.

Sounds like an interesting toy, also be keen too see pics.
Have a nosey at this thread viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9466
They are getting good reviews and have seen Dans truck (Dr_PC - runs 31s) work very well with them. Be worth a look. Another new tyre too the market (have a set, just waiting on rims and vehicle too finish) is the Federal Couragia
http://www.federaltyres.com.au/couragiamt (not the best pic on there website)
The 31s which I got have good void gap between tread, but not too much. Are 3 ply compared too Pirelli's 2 ply so wont bag quite as well, but were very well priced, hence they should do fine for me
