Hey, going to go out tomorow arvo and check out the 4wd park at the waimac that a few members went to last weekend - rained today so hopefully wont be so dusty and may be a little mud ..... but wont get hopes up. Meet at belfast pub at 12.30pm if anyones keen post up or ill see you there. contact me on my cell below if you need to.
Just do what the rest of us out there do who don't own a 54mm socket........thats 99.9% of us use a drift and a hammer....preferably a brass drift, but after a few removals you won't care what sort of drift it is as long as it loosens the burred nut may come out for a play myself
Im pretty sure we have 1 at work (we should, its just a matter of finding it) so if you need one, sing out and I'll borrow it and swing by. I'll be at work tomorrow at some point, so text me. 021 569 467
As for the waimak. I'll see how I get on with my wof etc.

ill try. Arrrr so close
It won't effect reliability, hell there is 2 lock nuts b4 you get to the bearing, I and many others have been dong it that way for many years....... i've had shit loads of parts let me down over the years I wish it had been something as simple as a lock nut making the truck unreliable

Fawk yeah! What he said^^^^.
Tapping your bearing nuts up with a drift/screwdriver and hammer may not seem real professional, but it works fine. If you are really precious about that sort of thing, best you pay a professional to do the job.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!
sorry boys i had a few problems getting the diff head in , only took 3 hours just for the head. only have to fill the diff and put on the left tyre, then road test .
