Just put longer shackles in the Bighorn, wind up the torsion bars to suit, and get a set of second hand mud grip tyres.

It also comes down to how far you want to go, will you want it road legal or not. If not you can pick up something thats been dr reged and go as far as you want with mods.
If you do you want to start with a decent base cause you want to be able to keep getting warrents.
How capable are you, do you have the tools or are you getting the tools to do it your self?
what space do you have to do it, like I would like to drop my surf onto a solid axel chassie I know of, but I dont have the space to do it and I don't have the tools here in chch either.so you have to decide what you can do before you start something you cant finish, there is nothing worse than starting, spending lots of cash and selling it for bugger all couuse you cant finish it.
Also talk to a certifier about your plans to make shure it will be legal.
