FJ40 PTO winch
FJ40 PTO winch
Does anyone have an old (broken) Toyota PTO winch to strip for parts? I've broken the lever that slides the dog clutch in & out. I've managed a workable repair but can't get the top & bottom of the lever perfectly aligned so it's pretty stiff to slide, & keeps jamming. I'd love to score an undamaged replacement, but not at the stupid list price for a new one from Toyota at $269. Anyone???
Re: FJ40 PTO winch
Why not hook up a solynoid to a in cabin switch..?then it's easy to be in or out..from inside..hehe
Re: FJ40 PTO winch
You make it sound easy! But it can take a fair bit of leverage to move the dog clutch when it's been packed in mud... I'll stick with the maunual version - after all that's why we take passengers!

Why not get a whole spare winch off Trademe. I've seen a couple for around $200.
I've been searching for a PTO gear for my 70 series 5spd box so will keep an eye out for you too.

Nothing that flash on my old girl - but a good idea for the wish-list....
