first time fj40 rebuilder

hi guys... taken the plunge and am rebuilding my favourite car... got a sound 72 fj40 to rebuild and would like some advice... want to move to the f2 motor and 4 spd box and transfer case... will these bolt on??? want to go to power steering but this car will be road legal so who should i see in auckland??? Where can i access parts in auckland??? any must do tips for my rebuild??? cheers :lol:

Ok, I am no expert on 40's, but for power steering there are two options that I am aware of (and a whole S%$tload that I'm not :P)

1. Toyota Surf IFS steering box with a custom draglink to a flipped toyota steering arm... see here, then ask Wopass about his setup:

2. replace the manual steering box with a Hilux ute power steering one using one of the many available brackets and just use the existing steering setup - probably not quite as tidy, but just as functional.
