Awsome weekend turned up saturday afternoon did a few tracks off the air strip then went up to the donut pad and managed to fill rad with the sticky block your radiator mud that seems to grow in ralley woods so first thing saturday gave it a quick water blast (when what i should have done is take it out and clean it properly) then all ready for akas got about half hour in and founnd the tara was getting warm so stopped to give it a drink took rad cap off and had a gyser (bigger than the ones you pay to see in rotovegus) this theme repeted it self for most of the day so decided to take it easy on tara and did the fire wood loop made it through with a few more gysers and a tow every now and then it was a good day lots of digging towing and laughing thanks to all that organised this was a great trip and to those that traveled far and wide good on ya mate . :D :D :D :D :D

Had a great time, glad to be back home where I can rest a bit from all the hard work..... Icedjohnno came back for a cold water drink, tyre change and a shower before taking him to the Hutt for dinner at Subway then showing him how to get to the ferry terminal...

Thanks to all that came, it was great to meet some new people and put some names to faces and thanks to all that helped get it sorted.

skid wrote:I think Rhys (Reece :D ) (suzuki1k) :?: may of been sleeping too, coz he never got out of that safari in front of me at all, and we were stopped for over an hour
Yes we were having 40 winks till someone came along and said WAKEY WAKEY thanks Skid.... I couldn't get out of my truck, door was right next to a bank & Lyn was snoozing so couldn't get out the passengers side, but there were enough hands up there getting it sorted. When I got around the corner managed to drive into a branch that was sticking out (didn't see it though) and broke a headlight! Bugger you might say....

jumper wrote:I was having a good time until the rear pinion snapped again thanks for the help getting out and fixed
No problem Jumper, always glad to lend a hand where I can... just a shame that it happended again! Last time I pulled you to Tu's place to repair it!

Looking forward to the next working bee in there... might see some more new people as well....

Thanks Jerry and Sig for organising a great trip and also to Dazza for helping sort the POS electrics on my POS Toymota.
Great to drive some new tracks and spend the weekend camping. Good to meet some more new people.

86-surf, you better get you butt down to the next trip, have found the perfect waterhole to throw you in.

Turoa, now you have no excuse, get that POS landy going, we have found rocks!!! :D

Cheers for the great weekend guys, was definitely worth the trek north yet again and catching up with you all.

Had to do a bit of a repair job after the ferry crossing in getting the wheels pointing straight as I nearly melted a tyre getting from rallys into welly (it was getting sticky to touch !!).

A mechanic came out of a house when i was on the side of the road and then dissapeared back in and came out with his 6ft crow bar and bent my idler arm down. Reckons most mechanics now days are stupid pussys for throwing out idler arms with tiny movement on them under load cause when your driving its like they are on turn plates and there is no movement. (never get after market crap, its just to weak!). Anyway met BrentC off the site, just happened to be driving past in picton to catch the ferry! He had just done a lot of track in the south island.

See you all at easter!

A big GREEN thumbs up from me! :D YEEE HAAWW

A damn fine weekend away. Only one dent and three flares buggared, mud from a-hole to breakfast and the tools all wet, I wonder why!!
Back home at 3.30 this morn..... Would not have been possible on the Simex's but I love these in your mud
Thanks to all that made this weekend work. Lots of fun, hard driving and white powder, Thanks Taz
If Taz ever says Morning and points a dry powder fire extinguiser at your sleeping bag BEWARE! I SEE RED turned ALL WHITE! Was only after I climbed above the clouds that my eyes started too work.
Even funnier seeing Mr O bouncing around in his sleeping bag like a beached Mermaid, right across the campsite. Taz had got James in his latest Tara. Good to meet you too and bloody good fun with the Train Horn at 1.30 AM...

Great to meet all you lot, damned Rednecks!

Will talk more about it on a later thread but I reckon we should have an ANNUAL ORE CONVENTION, and I think Rallywoods is the place as it is Central NZ.

Thanks to Lyn and Reece for their Hospitality. Not at all Redneck and Man that 1K looks nice.
Jerry I will return your Bagels  Found most of them I think

Thumb up and its coming off tonight with my knife.

Damn! Q Bday We
Various people had mentioned that weekend but I am biased against it.
Nationally we all have that weekend off and traditionally we all have some favourite place we go or things that we do then.

When I talked on the PRS yesterday about an ORE CONVENTION with the final few believers as we were heading down and up Wong Way, I was thinking of a provincial three day weekend, more particularly the Gumboot one that you've just had, but in 1 years time. That way the other Redneckers from further north and us Southern Folks can take a couple of days off and not be constrained by traditional events.

I was also thinking that perhaps this could originate at Rallywoods and then migrate around other provinces. The reason for starting at Rallywoods was threefold;
1) This place is bloody well set-up and the oldest purpose built off-road site in NZ (I think)

2) For a bunch of Rednecks you Wellingtonians have got your shit together. Your sense of fun, humour and organisational skills impressed both Mike and I. We both felt that other areas could gain good methods from your tight-nit camaraderie. (Note here, I have not done any other 4wding in the NI so other impressions are only taking from posts on ORE)

3) Centrality. To get us all together initially we need encourage people by offering the minimum travelling distance. Once the ball is rolling, momentum will gather as more mud or bigger rocks stick to it, so then we can have ORE Conventions further South & North.

And it's been in the planning since June last year (after the last one). And there's never really a good time that suits everyone. So we'll see what happens this time and we can discuss when/where the next one will be over a beer around the fire!

damn fine weekend thanks to all who made appearances and made faces to names, bloody hard case buggers those southerners come back y'all anytime, well beasties still running cant seem to kill it not even the firewood loop and many thanks to those who dragged my sorry butt threw there. Johnno loaded with beer air and a train horn deciding to play at 1.30am required a little reminder that payback normally sucks hence the powder stuff applied at wake up, shit gets everywhere don't it .
Glad y'all had fun here and dazza ....i can still smell bbq i was frigging staving smelling your bloody wagon running on cooking oil. hope to see y'all again soon .
