Post by casualman »

i am sick of my 2L being gutless and under powered
which is the better conversion to do
1KZ-TE or 13-BT
fitting and wiring isn't a problem

you will probably find 1kz better as surfs didnt come out with 13bt motor but did with 1kz so conversion should be easier and 1kz are 12v and 13bt 24v

less wiring in a 13bt but they are heavy aswell
a bit more wiring involved with the 1kz being efi but real easy setup, not a bolt in either but the best engine by far with a few easy mods!
i got rid of the efi in my ute!

Go the KZ.
Back to back the KZ ate all over a 13bt on a trip into the back of the Clarence a few years ago. Far more peppy :D

afaik there is a few mechanical pump 1kz-t's around.

or use a pump off a 5L and fit a boost comp on it. with a bit of tuning it should be fairly close.
