Well, it arrived at work.... i grabbed the nearest sharp instrument i could find and with gleeful abandon lined up where the best place was to attack the box.... only to thrust like a trooper, straight into my hand (not the first time some may say!!), not deterred, with blood streaming, and the enthusiasm of an 18 year old in the brothel, i forged on flinging bubble wrap and cardboard in my wake. Proud as I lifted it high, only to have the blood act as a lubricant, loosening my grip, which resulted in one end skidding on the bitumin............ ARRGGGHHHHHH the first scratch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE HORROR.................OOOHHHHHHH THE HORROR!!!!!!

Well don't leave us in suspense  What was the TG goody that you've got, albeit now scratched?

And we don't need to know about lubricants and hands  Too Much info

icedjohno.... sorry.... it's a rear bar and tyre carrier for my Wrangler.

things went from bloody to worse when i got home and my dear loving wife asked how much it cost................. got the original bar off, just gotta disco the wiring and then battle with the tow bar mounting bolts... theyre being a bit stubborn...
then looking at ti all, it should (crossed fingers) just bang back on.

just tell her "this old thing, I have had it for ages" or tell her it was on sale and you saved heaps of money

Congrats. You'll hear the difference with the tailgate not rattling anymore.

I have put my number plate like shown here http://arb.com.au/jeep-rear-bars.php

I used a small led light on top that supplies sufficient light to pass WOF a couple of times without a problem. If you want more details, I'll email you some more (close up) shots.

i thinks thats about the only place i can put it. had considered slipping it up under the left taillight like the do in the US, but seems a bit too easy to catch the plate and rip it off.
Ill sleep (on the couch) on it and see what i come up with, ive retained the wiring so it oughtn't be too hard to jimmy it up and have it still looking half decent.

Yeah, I did check with the dealership and the US style plate backing was only $70 or so (tempting, but senses prevailed). Our plates are wider than US plates (they are more squarish).
