Now, I am guilty of killing everything that moved at one point, but age DID bring common sense and a modicum of wisdom. I now only kill what I need, standfast possums and goats, the other form of vermin, and i kill THEM evry chance.
OHHH BTY as a cat person, I also bomb them and stoats ,weasels, even if it means possibly missing out on a deer. Our hunting group have always had THAT philosophy.
Tell you one more thing, too. I bet MOST of us would rather let an animal live on, if we cant get a clean kill-shot first up.

To show you, and others, that it is not all kill kill kill, This wee flower is growing in the middle of the track down to Back Ridge hut, NOBODY stood on it!!! they are extremely longlived, these montane orchids, and flower for over a year, it is about the size of a modern 10c piece.
Hebe flowers, the most prolific north Island mountain shrub. Grows EVERYWHERE!!!
