mazda

Post by fish »

 i have a mazda 323 and the rear brakes failed a warrant, the front work fine.
the test said they diddnt work at all, yet the hand brake does. ive checked the pads and they still have
4-5 mill left, could this problem be related to the master cylinder? i know this isnt 4wd related,
any help appreciated.

is it disc brake rear?

if it is then they normally have a internal drum brake for the hand break so that will be why the hand brake still works fine.
could be a seized caliper but it would be unusual if both have seized.

what year 323?

if its an old rwd one and you havnt had it long then id be checking that someone hasnt clamped the brake lines somewhere.

the lasers / 323's have real problems with the proportioning valve which causes this problem. get a new or good second hand one and your away
