Ramsey Winches?

Post by nigelb »

Hi

Is anybody using a Ramsey Patriot 9500lb winch (24V version), or any Ramsey Winch?

I'd like to know if you think they are any good. any problems etc.

Ive had a good read of the specs and its about 10% faster and stronger than the equivalent Warn and they're about $400 cheaper.

I'm just a bit concerned about who the agents are and where i am going to get it fixed and if I have warranty problems or anything like that.

Does anyone know if there is a shop in CHCH I can look at them in?

Thanks

Nigel

I have had my ramsey for only a few weeks now, but i brought it off a pate who has had it for about 4 years. It is a bit slow compared to a good warn, but alot faster than the cheap ones you can buy these days, and it can really pull, seen it pull out a bogged long wheel-base safari using doubble purchase and it did it with ease. mine is 12 volt, 8000 pound so the one you are talking about could be different. Get the wireless remote if you do buy it as this little gadget is so handy, no need to shag round pluging in cables etc. i havn't hand to buy parts yet but the distirbuters seemed very helpfull when i e-mailed them about assembly diagrams etc.
Hope this helps. :D
