:D Hi anyone done the old whangamomona road lately??

many winches needed?or pretty easy goin?

and how long would it take to get to the track from wanganui?

Nothing open to the public up here.

Are you coming up as a club or just individuals.

You wanna talk to the egmont club about access into there. They took us through last time. Not really sure if you can just rock up and head in.

Maybe an hour and half from Wanganui. Thats a guess!

oh, i thought it was a public access track for anyone................. :scratch:

it wont be a club, just a couple or so trucks

and was it a good track jungle ?? or fairly tame?

Was a great view and couple of areas to play in but not a serious trip at all. It may have got a lot worse since though. I heard the egmont club were planning to use it as a special stage in a winch comp. Pretty scary if you go off the course.

Was just in there on Sunday, there are a couple of difficult bits and I wouldn't recommend going in there without at least one capable truck with a winch. Also, don't go in there if you don't want panel damage. It is a public road to my knowledge but there is a fee per truck payable at the Whanga pub to help maintain the track. About 2 to 2 1/2 hours trip from Wanganui to the start at the pub.
