i fitted one into my mistral had it mounted between aircleaner and the front pannel i didnt get around to finnishing it because i sold it but i was going to put an electric fan on it to push some air through it it di seam to up the power a bit but with so little cooling i didnt expect much.
If i rember there are pix posted here some where
the cooler was out of a (sorry i know im swearing here but i will wash my mouth out ) a toyota enima it was nice and compact to.
my present Terrano will be getting a WRX intercooler fitted to it along with LPG fumigation just the fumigation will give it in the area of 50% more power but it is a fine line between go n blow

I have got an intercooler off a Falcon XR6 turbo and will fit it after I have stopped the injector pump leak. Will post photos of the fitting but do not know how at the moment. Can someone give me a few tips?

First you have to have a site that will host your pix i use http://www.zoomshare.com
you up load your pic
when its up loaded you then rite click then click on share it
a window will open you then hilite quick link
then come back to this page and past it in the message box .
befor submiting it preview it just to make sure you did it rite
Hope this helps
As for the falcon intercooler you mite find you will have a fair bit of lag befor the turbo pumps it up thats why i used a smaller intercooler off the ennima

Hi there
Ive just joined up to this site. Im about to fit up a intercooler to my 91 terrano. Ive got a intercooler from a isuzu bighorn and the scoope. i was going to try and top mount it but theres not to much room. What i want to know is the pipe that goes from the turbo to the manifold there is a trottle body thing there do you need this or can i lose it to make more room. And is it worth intercooling what will i gain from this.

Cheers, Chris :D

you should get a HP gain as the ic will cool the air down befor going into your motor also the intercooler can be mounted above the rocker cover under the air intake that u will fit i would also fit a electric fan on it as well to help out pulling air over it to cool it down.
Personaly im going to fit my new one behind the grill and bumper that im makeing up to fit my winch on

Well, I wonder, oh how I wonder, did you guys ever finish putting your inter coolers on?
If by chance you have, what did you think of the power difference?

Once I've got my new FRP landcruiser wof'd and reg'd I'll be doing a 13b-t swap and fitting a large Volvo 940 intercooler in place of the a/c condenser. I've got all the parts but won't be for a while as I'm working on 3 landcruisers, my race car, another project car and house renovations to keep the girlfriend happy  :|

I'm hoping the boost threshhold/spool/lag won't be too badly effected because even though the Intercooler is large, the piping won't be too bad. As the outlets should both wrap around the top of the radiator tanks and be pointing straight back at the engine. So will keep pipe length to a minimum. Only way to have them shorter is fitting a top mount water to air intercooler I reckon.

Edit: here's one I prepared earlier

My partners brother fitted a top mount intercooler off a 1989 2.8 Isuzu Bighorn. He said you just take all the connections/pipes that the intercooler uses to bolt up to the Isuzu Motor and transfer it over all he had to do was make a bracket up off the front of the intercooler to mount to the engine to stop it from shaking it to much. He also used the scoop off the isuzu and made a hole in his bonnet and fitted that aswell to help with forced air. Worked really well heaps more power and used less diesel. Sorry I dont have pics as he just recently sold it.

I have these pictures of a Safari setup and see no reason why it cannot be done on the Terrano too.
