it seems everyone is getting confused with the 2 areas to post your weekend achievements,as their seems to be a few in the non 4wd related section that should be here.

never mind

anyway, I went round to my mates cruiser workshop today to change the clutch on the 80.

turns out that after a lot of grunting and groaning to get the farkin gearbox out, that my clutch was brand new anyway

so the noises I was hearing and attributing to the clutch due to the noise going away when you depress the clutch pedal, turned out to be the front driveshaft about to part company with the wagon.
the universals were that flogged and there was a chunk missing that would of caused it to fly apart within the next few days, so we caught it just in time.

so now I'm needing a new driveshaft

Well Jerry, if it was a real cruiser then it wouldn't of been an issue to push someone down the hill. However the 'baby cruiser'............... , next time try a real one eh?? Mind you a real cruiser wouldn't have to be towed down the hill
Maybe I will bring mine along next time.........

All day friday and Saturday on the Pajero, the Niva is feeling a little ignored. Last few weeks have seen a bit of work in various places culminating in an all out almost all nighter to get Paj up to scratch for the Thames Club's Laurie Sanson. Threw away the bumpers and shortened ends of the chassis to sort the entry and exit angles. Fitted new water pump and timing belt. (Why are crank Pulleys always such a mission to get off. A hole through the pulley face that you could put a 12 mm bolt into a thread in the block would be way too easy as would a stepped shank bolt that just gently pulled the pulley off the crank.)

Fitted rated hooks both ends. That should keep Jerry smiling for the next trip to Rallywoods.

New 33"x12.5 Buckshot Mudders had been fitted early in the week.

Scurried up to Maramarua and did the Laurie Sanson and got Second in Class! Yes! Even after completely screwing up the speed section. And it seemed like ORE guys took a big chunk of the top prizes Big Ups to the Thames Club guys for finding the only wet mud in the Waikato and a well run event all for $5 with a Barby included! Excellent day.
