Will a shock do the job of a steering damper?

Post by hosehustler »

Simple question, I have a set of good rear aftermarket shocks (+3inches), I have to make up damper mounts so wondered if one of these will do the job (and i'll have a spare  )
or should I just shell out and buy a damper :?:

Off another forum

Steering damper has the same valving for extension & compression
Shocks have firmer vavling for extension & softer valving for compression, also most shocks are gas charged.
