88 supra surf (new member)

Post by stoneym »

HI all, this is my first time on the site as a member but I have previously trolled through the site for info before.
I recently purchased an 88 hilux surf, some of you may recognise it as I'm sure it's been out and about before.
The previous owner was Shane Watts and pretty much everything that was done to it was by him. I am currently in the BOP with plans to relocate to the Wanaka/Queenstown/Alexandra area within a couple months, and I am thinking of joining a club once I get there. If you are in a club in either area I would appreciat any info you may have on clubs and contacts. I look forward to getting in the dirt with you guys and learning alot too, just as soon as i get some new cv boots..

So here is my new rig.

5M-GE straight six supra motor
Planed Head
Safari snorkel
Dual cooling fans w/ bypass switch in cab
LPG dedicated fuel system
2.5" exhaust straight thru
Lockrite locker in rear
Extended diff breathers
50mm body lift
Harrier front bull bar (currently in the backyard)
Tubular side rock sliders
Custom back bumper
32" BFG M/Ts
15" Mangles rims
Rear tire carrier
CB radio & PA system
Minor stereo w/ 4" & 6x9 speakers
Fire extinguishers
Bucket seats

Cheers for the info guys. should be a big help when i head down.

Hey monaro I'm in the mount, I have some bits for a 5gme lying around if you're interested. A head and a couple cams and maybe a couple other things too. It'd be good to meet up as I'm still not totally aquianted with my truck yet and someone else with the same setup would be good to have a chat to. Give me a ring if you like 5746544 after 6pm.

hah! i do but its firmly attached to my truck.
quite difficult to find i hear. probably your cheapest option is to buy a stong bull bar, locate a late 80's supra, and write it off.
then offer to buy the bellhousing
