i finally got round to pulling the gearbox and transfer case out last weekend,(the transfer case had blown) just waiting on my new one.hard top has been pulled off it now looks like an old US willys jeep.roof has been sanded down and cracks have been filled, bonnet is ready for a final sand and then primer.the lining inside the roof has been ripped out and i may put in sum black carpet there or either paint it.

Cool!
Looks like you're getting right down to business there!
Are those rear wheel flares stock? I notice you're running the skinny wheels. It would look better without the flares I recon.

Good on ya for doing the job yourself.

It should illuminate when the handbrakes on and its also a low brake fluid warning light and comes on when you press the brake pedal

It looks like it might be a 12v plug for running accessories like spotlights and stuff? Stick your voltmeter in it and see if its live?

It means its pretty old if its in mph, they came out in mph till about 1973ish I think?

that 2 point plug suits the "inspection lamp " they used to come with which is more commonly found in the glove box,the 2f you have is a far cry from the"1F" or "f" engine which is a metric version of the chevy blue flame which has a tin rocker cover and is only 3.9 litre, does any one still have a running "f" engine I wonder??
yeah i own a few cruisers

mine also has one in the glove box,on my vin plate (theres a pic of it in the toyota section under vin plate) it just has a F stamped on it so im not to sure if it is a F or 2F but it doesnt have a tin rocker cover

I used to have an F engine which ran alright, but overly the best. I ended up giving it away
