Bump
Keep this weekend in your calender free, this one will probably be playing with concrete and making up wall frame thingys, may be a 1 day only, or an overnighter if people want, more details to follow

Re: Rallywoods Working Bee 4 : 1st/2nd March
I booked the date first
This date is tentative and may just be preping the ground for the concrete etc, should know in 2-3 days hopefully , the next free date after that is 2 weeks later

Re: Rallywoods Working Bee 4 : 1st/2nd March
Yep but we need 2 weeks to get the concrete laid so I thought a day prepping the site with a digger and boxing it up, 2 weeks later its ready to assemble

Re: Rallywoods Working Bee 4 : 1st/2nd March
Yep... you might get a bit cold wearing just that
or rather sunburnt
Just had some more thoughts...perhaps we can make a box in the fire plate thingy so we have a dutch oven or something ie something we can shove a roast in ??? any idea's on this??? you might know about these dutch things Cloggy
On the plan is to convert some degassed LPG cylinders into a beer fridges either ice powered or cold dam water powered, these will sit in the corner or in new bench seating, need to have a think about what gear we need to do this job and will need to test them thoroughly afterwards of course

Are those bricks gonna be safe in the fire place?
Would have thought they would need to be proper fire bricks. The thing gets hot enough to melt glass after all. Those standard bricks might crack and disintegrate possibly collapsing the hot plates if you were thinking of holding those up with them bricks.
Just a thought, I could well be wrong.

I will bring the firebricks, you could fit the whole cooking area in our main oven

Have a few left over from the last oven I imported from canada...

Re: Rallywoods Working Bee 4 : 1st/2nd March
FYI the holdup confirming dates is Paul getting back to me with what is required, I will be posting up this list to see what can be donated or got trade, and what tools we need. we are looking at doing the concrete and getting the framing up over 2 weekends..
Will be lookng for any useful bits ie Marks old kitchen bench etc, the cheaper we can get the stuff the more we can do up there which will make our trips up there better.
More soon.....
