winch=how big??

hey all....
Im thinking about getting a winch(or wench if you are my wife!! lol) and wondering anyones opinion
on what size to look for?? its going on a little sj413....

Go 8000-12000, theres no point putting a little under powered winch on there even if your zuk is pretty light

dont forget you may be pulling my 12 ton POS Cruiser out of the mud or up the bank with it one day :mrgreen:

i put a 8500lb winch on my scudo for the same reason as sadam was saying, not always you that you are winching and you can never go too big.

How big a winch.....
I could strap all the welly trucks together and put all the hand brakes on and ill still drag them all up to where ever i am :twisted:

get the biggest winch you can fit on it (realisticly),as you never know when(as sadam said)you will need to anchor yourself to a big tree and pull a heavy truck to you :wink:

on my escudo toy i have a 9500pd bull winch on it i think its better to be to big and not need all of it than be to small and need moor

M6000 Warn worked really well on my ol 413. Bigger winches usually have the same motor but more reduction & are therefore slower, carry a snatch block or 2 for the big jobs & enjoy the fast line speed all the rest of the time. :)

How much cable does you have wopass! I mean, Waikato to Welly........ Sure its big BUT :lol:

i AGREE, i ran an 8274 in my 413, mounted it in the back against the tail gate and feed the cable underneath dont try that with syntheic rope
