Does anybody have the timing specs for a 3Y?

hi tony

8degrees BTDC @850rpm
firing order 1342
pistons counted 1234 from radiator backwards
#1 on dizzy is at 9oclock position looking from front and goes clockwise

anything else ya need
1990 surf 350 chevy jacked up and currently under construction again

No more info required :-)

I just swapped a 3y out of a van on LPG into the hilux and of course the timing ain't quite right now its back on petrol. The old motor dropped a big end and the 3y was the right price (FREE).

i would go for 10deg and run BP ultimate...... but you forgot to mention the vacume advance hose off and plugged :wink: and 0.016" points gap (better than the recomended 0.018" as it helps them rev a bit better)and if you want a really good fat spark use a 6volt coil and carry a couple sets of spare points and condensor 8)

oh u kno what,tiredniss does causse trouble,i could have swarm n the title said 3ye last night ,but now afer sleep it says just 3y,so eh all of wopass's info is much more accurate than mine,sori about that tony
