Believe it or Not! Slow Mount goes fast !!!!

Post by The_Wazza »

Hi ppl,

Latest thing on the winching scene over here in Aussie!

A modified Warn 9500xp Low Mount, kicking High Mount winch tail in the latest extreme winch challenge in Queensland.
A bunch of guys have been messing around with the Low Mounts and got some serious speed out of them.
The latest setup had 2 motors via Flamin Fabrications Twin Motor Adapter and really did the biz.
The guys are extremely happy with the results and really surprised a hell of alot of people with it's performance.

The guys are just fine tuning a few more things after the last comp.
They made it go faster and to carry more rope.
I don't know what they have done to the internals and I don't want to know. It's their thing and I can see this becoming a big thing.
A person who called me has a PTO (which he bought from NZ) and also has a HIgh Mount, is now planning on changing to the Low Mount after seeing it in action.
I'm hoping to get some footage.

one of the guys down here ran a cheap chinese 12v winch in his safari on 24v, a solenoid earth gave out (we had to lift and isolate the solenoid pack for the rest of the rally) i think it lasted 3 winch challenges before grenading (thats 3 days of at least 30 pulls a day), and it ran faster than i have seen anything winch.i dont even think he changed the solenoids after one crapped out...
