1st-2nd March

Post by 85BJ73 »

Well, Saturday I dropped off the rear bumper, replaced 4x m/s bolts with 4x M12 8.8 on centre recovery point, protected rear tyre inflation airline with hose armour, as it was chafing on fuel tank mount, refitted bumper.......oh, I mowed the lawn too :D
Sunday, made "sandwich" reinforcing plates for rear of chassis out of 5mm plate, bought 2x new rated hooks, dropped rear bumper, again, drilled chassis and fitted hooks, so now I have 2x rated hooks on the rear, and one LTSA certified recovery point, rated higher than the hooks, so now I have all bases covered.
Found UNI foam filter for truck in shed after loosing it for a year, washed it, and just need to oil it and fit it, removed "sock type" UNI filter from top of snorkel, cleaned it, and now it just needs oiling, and reinstalling.
Moved numberplate off top of winch bar to the front of it, hopefully top improve airflow to radiator.
No matter the problem, the answer is always give it more gas.......

Finally got the rolled truck to the panelbeater's, should be some time under repair, which will give me a chance to do something with the engine for it. Went out to a club on Saturday night and just happened to meet a guy who knew a guy....to cut a long story short I picked up another truck which was going to be for parts, but the only thing wrong was a cracked head and the body/running gear is straight as. I picked it up for $100 so now I've got the shortblock to fix number two truck, and at long last a number three truck for me!! All I need now is an engine for it.

Best night clubbing I've ever had, and I wasn't even drinking!
