Are you sure about the 33's??

I tried mine on my mates surf the same modle as yours, and with the steering straight and the suspension uncompressed, no problems.

Lock to lock with the suspesion uncompressed it only just touched the fire wall, and once articulation started happeneinmg, it was all over.

Be carefull. You will need a body lift to run those from what i saw when we tried it.

He is now running my old 32 X 9.5 R15 Maxxis Muddders on his standard alloys. Thats a much better fit for the truck.

Just some food for thought there man!!!

Pete.

yeah they defintley went on ok just putting them on - didnt have time to look at the articulation but im sure i would need the 50mm lifted coils in the rear for this which i plan on doing sometime early next year and before i buy new tyres too!!! the front seemed ok i have lifted the torsion bars up to about their limit. - I think cromcruiser said he had put 33's on with just the lifted rear coils too.

wasnt entirely sure if i would go for 33 or 32 inch when i buy some anyway was leaning more towards 33x11.5x15 if i went with 33's -any other info suggestions / things to be wary of when doing this?

ill give you a bell at some stage mate my flatmate will be keen for a drive with us in his MU too - whats qtown hill like i havent really checked that out yet done macetown a couple of times was a bit of water the first time so made in interesting !!!

Its the RIM that causes the problems with cert, and very seldom the tyre. You were (last time I checked) allowed a 10% difference from stock tyre size - which I think is 30", so 33" is in that 10%

You have a track width, which is from the centre of one rim to the centre of the other one. The factory provided measurement must be within 25mm (+/-) of the actual measurement taken by the WOF guy, or you'll need cert for the rims.

33"s will need a body lift, not just springs. The problem will be in the front, not so much the back... so yeah, this springs will help, but you'll need at least a 35mm body lift to clear the front bits... pref a 50mm otherwise stop at 32"s

Hope that helps... also hope I'm right - if not, someone will tell me :)
