Jeeeeeeeesus, aren't you guys SICK of Thommo's????

Go up the wires for a CHANGE OF SCENARY

Go up to the Tairua river and camp the night, theres a shelter up there, a toilet, a gas BBQ and a picnic table. Its an easy gental drive in. Just take your own gas bottle.

Theres huge bogs to get stuck in and use your winch on if you head into the loop as far as you feel comfortable, and a leasurly yet entertaining trip into the other end of the loop.

There's also some ammature rock crawling to be had on the ABC rock.

theres one member here who has lived years in tha waikato, and has never been up thommos and is keen to go. Another "Jeeper" who may still be here on easter weekend is laso keen to head up Thommos. And yet another bloke thats been part way up, that maybe wants to have another crack.

Sure, Thommos gets a bit tedious..... but for those who havent been up there much its all new and exciting.

Aside from the long sticky hill bit half way up, i dont see what else was required, hell, i reckon that ought to have been left as it was anyway......

This is true, but if'n I got it started and got a day or two ahead of things earlier in the week and we aimed for a Sunday Drive on Tommos, Gods willing we may even have her ready. Short block and trans can go in before the head goes on, which after all is the critical part. And if not, we just take the Paj and get a break in! :)

Auckland guys are going to the Wires track on Sunday (16 March). Send a message to Peter Vahry, he is leading the trip. At this stage, I am planning on going there as well.

Had a small hick-up over the weekend with the WoF man, should be sorted on Thursday. Pending no more dramas, I should be good to go.

Oh bloody wonderful, next thing they'll be metalling it and expecting us to thank them! Lets pray for a seriously wet easter Saturday. Mind you, not a lot you can do in 4 days... did they just deal to the slip that everyone was talking about?

WOP, TeAroha side is maintained by Matamata-Piako district council, theyre the dudes that have been doing the work. They dont touch Katikati side, not their turf. However, there was talk of BOP 4x4 moving in there (katikati side)and cleaning it up... how true that is though remains unknown, perhaps someone from the BOP 4x4 club can confirm or deny?

Guarantee that the TeAroha side will become a "shiney" track over time.

All set for Saturday.
Happy to have another crack at getting the mitsi up that muddy stretch. Athough by the sounds of the murmours it may not be as bad. Cant see how that could have put too much metal in there over such a short period of time, but hey the proof will be in the looking on the day.
Anyone meeting to go in convoy or all just meeting out there?

If "they" (whoever that may be) leave it alone yeah. Can you see that getting "tidied" too though?

RJ, i guess we'll sort that on friday. nothing like sorting it out last minute.

Isnt it about time the lads and ladesses from Hamilton and the surrounding spots all got together for a night out?

I'll be coming down from Auckland. Don't mind going out in a convoy. Where do other Aucklanders want to meet? Perhaps the BP gas station before the Bombay hill (the one on the left with service area - just after Papakura). Or may be further down somewhere.

This is ofcourse assuming I get my act together with the WoF man on Thursday.
