3 door vitara / escudo wanted

Post by Heath »

Well all systems are go from the finance controller and I am now looking for a vitara.

Body work isnt important (roof will be cut off, and doors removed), reg and wof arent needed, must be on standard suspension (not raised or modified).
Prefer something that hasnt been thrashed as the engine / drive train must be in good nick.
Looking for a manual (after much deliberation the Auto option is on hold for now - soaks up too much power)
8 valve or 16 valve not important but must be EFI.

Thats about it for me any other bits (tyres, wide wheels, gear reductions, etc) are a bonus.
Budget is low but for the right one I will stretch things.

Cheers,

Heath

Give Andre @ Hibiscus Coast WOF Centre 09 424 8705 a call... tell him Chris with the Suzuki's mentioned it :)
I can't really remember any of the details but he had one that had suffered a minor frontal accident, the motor had a blown head gasket or something so he put another gasket in which blew to, so in the end he replaced the whole motor and got it all going again and this happened... Don't think the damage was too bad for what you want...
From memory didn't want too much but not sure if he would still have it...

Cheers

Hi,

As always Trade-me is a good place to look! I have seen loads of Vitaras there from $700 upwards.

Whats your budget?

Cheers,

around the grand mark.

Lots of Autos on there at the moment(typical) but they all climb in price when the bidding starts and most reserves are above my limit.

Theres one out there for me just have to find it.

Bump.

Still looking.

Saw a 413 (I think) on T Me but it is C class. How much differnce is there between A class, C lass and E class really.

Is a jump to E or C too much for a novice?

Maybe I could revert this one back to E class if C is too much.

Here is a link to it on T me

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =145171867

Any one recognise it? Any hints on how it performed.

If the owner is one of us or someones mate, sorry if I have gone behind your / there back a little here, just after impartial advise (no offence intended).

Sucks to be me at the moment.

Missed out last night on a vitara for a reasonable price (forgot to auto bid) while I was at a wedding. The other one has been withdrawn.

Any A class guys getting out of the game or upgrading like to sell their sunday driver? Or someone know someone?

Ah well I guess I live vicariously through you guys for a little longer.

Heath,
I see your in Auckland so might be a long shot, but i have a 3door escudo that has had rear section of roof etc chopped off to turn it into a ute, no wof reg, a bush truck, is currently auto with g16a but keeping the engine for our other vitara. is lifted with OME gear, rollcage etc, could be sold as a rolling shell if that sort of thing interests you ?? will be within your budget

Well I opened up Trade me a few days ago and saw a red 413 with roll cage and vit engine and thought this might be the one. Yeah I know it isnt a vitara but I have a soft spot for 413's (god alone knows why).

I asked a few questions (okay, quite a few) that I felt were worthwhile and now the seller has blacklisted me and I cant ask questions. Maybe I was a really interested buyer who cant get there to see it in person (hence the questions).

Thing is I am still interested but now cant ask anything (or get serious answers anyway).

I will put the link here for others comment as they may recognise it and can tell me more about it, and if the owner is on here well maybe they will be a little more forthcoming with proper answers. If not well there will be others I guess.

Here it is.

That guy on trademe seems familar but not sure where from... maybe just from both of us looking at zook stuff on tm...
But anyway happy to ask questions on your behalf if you need (and can still be bothered with him...)

PS. My wide track samurai is probably still avaliable :) as haven't done anything with it yet and have since purchased another soft top 413...

The number isnt avalable to me since I was "blacklisted" and I didnt see it before. I guess I could log out and look but do I really want to deal with this guy?

I guess he doesnt want to sell it. I was pretty interested (had already sorted a trailer for the weekend and talked the wife into a nice drive in the country), not sure if I can be bothered now. Will look for something up this way.

I hope he get what he is looking for with this auction, shame it wont be dealing with me. I guess the money burning a hole in my pocket will have to smoulder some more.

Ya just dont read about it do you.

I have been trawling trade me for the last few months looking for the right deal and tonight I find one (hadn't seen it before so must have been a new one on today or last night), Escudo 3 door auto warranted etc-drivable home.

But the auction is closing when I stumble across it. How could I have missed it? I am shit faced now as it went for a grand and only one guy bid on it.

Arghhhhhhhhhh.

On another note I see a A class truck from Wanganui is up for sale in the specialist vehicles - comp cars category.

Anyone seen it in action?

Hate it when that happens...
There was only 27 Views on it, and it was purchased using a Buynow... so i'd say it had only been up there for literally a couple of minutes... That seems incrediably cheap though would have probably been better to resell it to fund more parts :)
