I have a chevy fitted with block hugger headers and the bolts which bolt the headers to the collection boxes keep coming loose. 4 on each side
I have welded nuts onto the bottom of the headers so I dont need a spanner to hold them with tightening the bolts from below.
I have tried locktite 623, spring washers, starlock washers but I can seem to stop the bloody bolts from coming loose.
Any bright ideas would be appreciated

Are the flanges up tight, before and as, the bolts loosen?
If they are, then the bolts must be rotating so there is a remedy.
Drill a small hole in the head of each bolt, tighten appropriately, thread some lockwire thru all four bolts, and perhaps thru some other component as well, then twist the lockwire up tightening the wire. Dont break the wire at this point
This should then do the trick
If the flanges or whatever the joint is made from, (pipe over pipe), comes loose without the bolts rotating then you need to re-think the jointing method. There must be some fretting going on.
Solid flanges work best, also pipe over pipe with a clamping method.
Perhaps more exhaust supports on the pipes are needed?

Tighten them when they are hot??
They may be coming loose when the metals have expanded at running temp.

Nordlock washers, they are a double washer

(the bolts will rust making the thread stiff and when you try to turn that last piece of it through your nut it has a weak piont at the hole)
Another sugestion would be to grind off your nuts and replace them with longer bolts and a couple of strong springs and put the spring inbetween the nut and the flang alot of deseils use this to stop the vibration
As for sealant "maniseal" is cheap and dose the job, or if its a hard to reach bastard job i use "salley's no more nails" just wire brush the dust off the rust and its will stick and you can mould it n it bakes nice and hard with a bit of heat

Castellated nuts? as in the ones they use on tie rod ends. Split pin 'em when they are done up tight, then they can't move. Alternatively use lockwire - a lovely skill I learned in the Air Force. Looks pretty and will hold anything in place when done properly - that stuff holds planes together.
