Yeap gotta love the tennie bopers down at ripco, Get nervois walking in the door at my local branch, the staff at Manukau are okay and The manager helpful but still pricy, I use BNT first and then Appco (same co better price for same items and better staff knowledge) price gaurantees are not what the appear most are for the exact same item ie same part # and brand so only good on oils and the like, it is unlikely that you will find the same brand in many products in more than one outlet. I say go BNT first if they don't have it the can usually get it and keep a good collection of spares so you do not need to go on a Sunday, (even though my shed is full of suff Murphy still gets me)

Well, after being told by Ripco that my Toyota can't have leaf springs  , that the 3B it has must have been a transplant   , and they never had a diesel Landcruiser  :? ......and the greasable spring shackel kit would have to come from Oz  , but it won't fit my 73 as they are for a different one, and as mine shouldn't have leaf springs, they will not guarantee fitment, despite having got the same kit the last week :? . So I tried BNT, the last ones I got from Ripco were $25.00, BNT wanted $133.00  So back to Ripco, finally got someone who has been at the local branch for over 20 years, and the shackels will be here overnight 8)
It sure pays to get the right person at Ripco, but why the huge price difference between Ripco and BNT for the same parts??
No matter the problem, the answer is always give it more gas.......

Earlier comments seems right. Here in Nelson I have had a great run with Repco, but I work in the motor industry, we give them a fair bit of business, and I only ever deal with the one guy I know who is really good. Small piss-ant stuff I never really mind a buck or two extra, but any major purchase and he really looks after me. List prices are horrendous, but a brand new Wayco Hi-lift offered for $100? That is good buying!

Having said that, I also have a lot of time for the local BNT guys who are excellent, although I'll probably never forgive them for recommending heavy-duty shocks for the back of the Escudo. OUCH!!!

ive had a good run at the nelson repco as ell, only ever deal with the one guy, and he always brings out the staff discount card for me :P so the rev counter that as $110 dropped to $60.... not a bad discount... but i get more stuff off the net these days, just easier.
