Torx Sockets??

Post by mike »

Anyone know where I can buy one of these from. measures around 12.5mm on outside of star and 9.3 or so on the inner bit.

Repco want 60 bucks for a set and I dont want to part with $60 just for one socket.

You probably don't wanna hear this, but i did some research on that when i was in westport when replacing the big ends on the Safari, and i ended up buying the set from Repco.

I think it was because i couldn't get them individually and Repco had the cheapest set.

try trade tools, we have them in auckland, they sell them individually.

other wise the likes of locl stahwille, snap-on dealers should be able to help you.

Haha, yep... I was going to send you mine too... I bought the Powerbuilt set from Repco as well as I needed one to pull the seat out of my BMW - damn Germans - whats wrong with normal bolts? :P

Having then bought the set, I found a normal socket fitted over the torx bolt and would have undone it well enough anyway... Still... he who dies with the most tools wins  - woohoo! its a race, I'm in! :P ...just don't tell the wife.

Surley any excuse to have more tools is a valid one although I must appoligise that no one told you that you can buy Torx individually you just need to know what size you need.
From the top of head (cloudy from beer) i think you can even get 3/8th and 1/2" options. :)

.our snap-on dealer is a dick head
seems to be nationally as its the same here and when he did show up, replaced the small snap ring on my rattle gun which he sold me weeks earlier( life time warranty???) then charged me for it. ($1.00 plus fitting $5.00) Great tools bullshit service  Use to buy thousands $ per year ........now shove it !!!
