Hilift Jacks
Hilift Jacks
Do you need hilift jack points put on your truck before a hilift jack can be used? I wouldn't mind getting one but need to know if its use full on a standard truck or not
Re: Hilift Jacks
You can use it on your tow hooks with a short snig chain if you do not have suitable bars etc.
Another method is to wrap a sling around the bottom 1/4 of the tyre and lift from there.
It just depends how adventrous you want to get.

Wouldn't that make it difficult to change the tyre???

Yeah it would make it tricky but if you lift it via the wheel and lower the chassis onto a rock / blocks / anything solid, you could then change the tyre and you would be away.
Or lift it by the wheel and fill in the hole under the wheel and drive on ...

There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

Re: Hilift Jacks
Check out your local ARB agent. They also have similar accessories for the Hi Lift jack.

Re: Hilift Jacks
wouldn't that just rip most bumpers off or bend them up before lifting the whole vehicle?
Re: Hilift Jacks
Don't use them on factory bumpers or running boards. They are designed for the ARB bullbars or heavy duty after market bumpers.
Take the factory ones off, and get some tube bars made, they are fairly cheap and effective

Re: Hilift Jacks
I should have clarified, yes those lifting points need special points on the bumpers or rock rails. Otherwise you can do some damage to your factory tinfoil..
ARB certainly makes a lot of these accessories. Just walk into your local ARB dealer and pick their brain. Most of them know what they are selling and how it works.

Re: Hilift Jacks
I lift off my rear bar on my cruiser But for the front i got some 50x5 mm plate drilled some bolt holes in them then notched out a retangular slot at th front for the nose of the jack to sit in..I bolted them to bottom of chassis and they come out far enough for me to jack it up ..The weight goes on the chassis bolts and the slot just locates the jack ..I can take some pics if you want

Re: Hilift Jacks
Does it work well if the vehicle is on a bit of an angle? looks like the jack might slip out.
Re: Hilift Jacks
dont know yet but the whole nose fits into the slot.. not ideal but it works..my wagon is fairly high so i need the high lift just to change the wheel..
