Are you going to cut out the battery tray and replace it or just repair what you've got?

I've got a LWB shell that I can hack up if you need sections of the inner guard. Can drop bits off easy enough next time I'm in Hams.

hey mitch that would be great, its the drivers side i need, i would rather put in a full tray than bodge it up and it would be just as easy to cut out and fit another.. awesome mate let me know

Yep, from memory about 8 or 9 spot welds down each side. Access is really good too. Then it can be bolted back in with M6 machine screws. I did the LH tray a few years ago to put a second battery in my Patrol, back when I was running an electric winch.

my god was all i was thinking when i read about the chap who spent $34k?? man, i dont even take that home in a year!!!

I have 3 cars:

02 Commodore, spent $2400 on that for new exhaust and reprogram etc to make 420hp and about 6 tyres later

1985 V8 Landrover bought for $2,800 and have done numerous things, receipts totaling $4,404, thats mechanics bills.
now i have got cunning and do things myself, and parts still add up, Broken half shaft $500, new front diff $300 etc... heaps!! seal kits...

now the best truck i have is my Nissan GQ Safari, $42 bux for a warrent yesterday and $283 for rego yesterday, $400 for new springs to raise, $350 for steel powder coated snorkel, $900 for rims and 33' tyres 1/8th worn mongrels and a service about $150 worth of gear. New front axel seal kit and bearings (Cheers DaveM), Super truck, it gets dealt to, so am prepared to spend some coin on it.

Now, to Save some money for a deposit on a house.....

yep, thats some serious money, thing is i already have a house which means mortgauge and not a small mortguage so my spends are limited and when things need repairing like clutch etc finding $800 bucks soon eats into any savings and before you know where you are your waiting for each payday to come to repair or improve your truck, becomes a bit of an obsession i personally dont feel comfortable without some money tucked away for that just in case scenario.
