It seems to be a common conversion, I have heard of numerous conversions being done, I have done it on my 'cruiser, and a couple of mates have done their Zuki's.
You don't say what vehicle you have, or what type of aircon pump.
In my cruiser I connected the intake side of the pump to an inline oiler, to keep the pump lubed, then on the outlet side a water trap, to remove any moisture and oil. I also fitted a checkvalve after the filter, to hold the pressure in the tank. I left the inlet side into the checkvalve loose, so it can bleed off excess pressure, so the pump does not start under load.

Do people bother putting covers on outlets on the front like that o is that sorta thing not n issue? I could see them getting filled with mud or even getting a stone wedged in there?

My truck still hasn't seen any mud since those photos. And yes, both outlets are going to be covered up for sure!

when we did the converson on the pajero we used a ARB air pressure switch
it cuts off at 100 psi then comes back on at 80 psi. we decided to use it for its size as some people use 240volt compressor cut off switches but they are a bit bulky and the ARB was cheaper
it was about $40 from the local ARB dealer
we used a old fire extinguisher for the tank and all the other brass fittings and the manifold and air lines cost about $140.00
so all up the parts was about $200 for parts i think thats not a bad price for endless air
