A frames
A frames
does anyone know the legalities of a framing completly unregistered and unwarrented vehicles? i know a few people that do it but oddly enough they have no idea if it is legal or not maybe leaving themselves wide open to prosecution. i personally would like to know if it is allowed with non road legal vehicles..
Re: A frames
You have less legal requirements towing with an a frame than you do towing a trailer.
A trailer is required to have a WOF where as you are legally allowed to anything with an A frame as long as it is safe.
Go figure that one out

Re: A frames
It appears you get different answers depending on who answers the phone.
I called the LTNZ a couple of years back and asked them.
The woman on the other end said the vehicle had to have a warrant. So I gave up and hired a salvage trailer that weekend.
Good thing too, because the guy I bought the vehicle from did a dodgy on the diffs. The wanker still owes me $840 that the disputes tribunal awarded. So if there's anyone here from Golden Bay area, let me know.

Use to be a link on the front page of the old site but here is the NZ Herald Quote which says it all.
