getting more power from mitsi 6g72?

Post by mudjunkie »

any ideas on getting more horses from a stock 3ltr 6g72,

now don't say buy a nissan or toyota, haha

i am using bp ulimate 98, plus wynns octane bost, ($10 from supercheap), i heard a while ago, you can swap the ecu from the 3.5ltr mitsi paj and diamante's into 3l, makes it think 3.5ltr, more fuel dump, etc,

any one tried those usb to ecu cables, trademe had them a while ago, download the rom, change upload, etc

Chuck a GTO Twin turbo motor in it,as they are near the same as yours(minus the twins) 280 HP should be enough

From a guy I know -

Basically,
Add Genie extractors running through a 2.25" exhaust with a high flow muffler.
Get the car dyno tuned very soon after and tinker around with some of the EFI settings. Power went from 76Kw to 93Kw at the rear wheels. Mine already ran a snorkel with Finer Filter (foam) and Magnecore 8.5mm (KV85) ignition leads. It was a very noticeable improvement.

You can get a chip for the ECU (various aftermarket suppliers) and a 60mm throttle body (standard is 54mm) from RPW - http://www.rpw.com.au in WA. But I think they will only yield higher rpm power the 3.0 V6 needs more low down torque.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)
